Kinesiology treatments: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What is kinesiology?

Developed in the 1960s by chiropractor, Dr George Goodheart, kinesiology is a gentle, holistic therapy that uses muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body and support the healing of numerous health conditions. As a professional kinesiologist in London, I help clients with issues such as menopause, PMS, infertility and other hormonal issues, skin conditions, injury healing, stress, low energy, digestive problems, and emotional wellbeing. Kinesiology considers the whole person — physical, emotional, nutritional, and energetic — to support long-term health.

  • How does kinesiology work?

Kinesiology gives your body ‘a voice’. Symptoms are the way our bodies communicate that something needs attention - and kinesiology is a way of ’listenin'g’. So instead of shutting symptoms off, in a kinesiology session, I use light muscle testing to “ask” the body where imbalances are stored. (Every part of the body, from muscles, organs and bones to nerves, blood vessels and capillaries is wrapped in fascia, a sophisticated, connective web that is alive with millions of sensory receptors that communicate with each other). Your body responds instantly, helping us uncover hidden nutritional needs, emotional stress, energetic blockages, poor lymph flow or physical tension. Once identified, I apply gentle corrections such as lymphatic reflex-point stimulation, acupressure techniques, energy balancing, nutritional recommendations and lifestyle guidance.

  • What issues can kinesiology help with?

Many people seek kinesiology for support with:

    - Stress, anxiety, fears, phobias and emotional wellbeing

    - Digestive issues, food sensitivities, and gut health

    - Low energy, fatigue, insomnia or poor sleep

    - Hormonal balance, menopausal symptoms, PMS, infertility and women’s health

    - Injury healing, muscle tension and aches

    - Respiratory health; asthma, chest infections etc

    - Frequent colds, flu and poor immunity

    - Focus, concentration, and learning challenges

(Always consult your GP for diagnosis or urgent health concerns).

  • What happens in a kinesiology session?

    A typical appointment includes:

A friendly consultation about your health history and goals

Muscle testing to identify areas of imbalance

Each treatment is bespoke and depending on what you present with will include gentle corrections to restore balance, such as massaging specific neurolymphatic reflex points to stimulate lymph flow, acupressure techniques, EFT (tapping), energy work and more.

Personalised lifestyle, nutritional, or stress-relief recommendations, based on bodily feedback.

Most clients describe sessions as deeply relaxing and often notice positive changes after the first appointment. However, longstanding issues often require 3-6 sessions (or more) to heal.

  • How many sessions will I need?

Every person is different. Some clients feel a shift after 1–2 sessions, while deeper or long-term issues may need 4–6. Some people like to have kinesiology treatments as a preventative measure to keep their health on track. We’ll agree a plan that works for your needs and goals.
