Healing injuries with kinesiology: natural recovery methods

Explore how kinesiology can aid in the healing of injuries from sprains and strains to broken bones

Is healing injuries with kinesiology really possible, I hear you say? It absolutely is - and I speak from experience with clients - as well as my own dramatic improvement. Obviously the causes and types of injury vary, and many, once rested, iced or reset, will heal of their own accord. However, some injuries can be slow to heal, or may result in residual pain from scar tissue or other compounding issues.

If you have an injury that is taking a while to heal, it could be that your body requires extra nutrients for the healing to take effect. For example, vitamin C (which the body does not store) is required for the normal functioning of the bones, cartilage and skin. A slight deficiency in this vital vitamin could result in slower healing, yet it is simple to remedy. In kinesiology we are able to muscle test to see which, if any supplements, may be required. There are numerous minerals, vitamins, herbal compounds and nutritional combinations that can help ligaments, tendons, muscles and bones etc to heal, which your body may not have needed before the injury.

We also have a technique called Injury Recall, which is spectacular for speedily healing injuries. It works on the cerebrospinal fluid and has a remarkable effect on the injury site. In my own case, I’d broken my right elbow and had a metal plate fitted to fix three pieces of fractured bone together. After this type of injury, many people can no longer straighten their arm, myself included. With my arm stuck at a right angle, I was having regular physiotherapy treatments, which helped, but progress was slow. I was getting one degree of extension and one degree of flexion each week. However, after a kinesiology appointment, where the kinesiologist carried out the injury recall technique (and others) and tested some supplements that would help to heal the injury site, I returned to my next hospital appointment and the physio managed to achieve ten degrees of extension and eight degrees of flexion - it was a dramatic difference. With a combination of kinesiology, nutritional supplements and physiotherapy, I was finally able to straighten and use my right arm again.

That wasn’t the end of it though. Having had my arm in a cast for three weeks, prior to the operation and not being able to move it much afterwards, I had developed a ‘frozen shoulder’ too (and was still unable to drive for months after the operation). This time a combination of kinesiology (and nutritional supplements), acupuncture and iyengar yoga therapy got everything moving and ‘unfrozen’. (I didn’t want to be put on a waiting list for a steroid injection, which was the only option under conventional treatment).

With an injury that was caused by an accident, there can also be shock and psychological repercussions, such as hesitancy to do whatever we were doing when the injury happened (whether we acknowledge it or not). This is where the classic advice to ‘get back on the horse’ comes from, as it imprints a different memory of the experience, so we’re not left with a bad one. If this isn’t possible, or there is still excessive fear after an accident or injury, the injury recall technique - and others - can help to clear cell memories. I’ve seen clients who were fearful about returning to certain activities after sustaining broken joints and injuries in accidents, return to them after just one kinesiology session, along with swift physical recovery (surprising their doctors and occupational therapists in the process).

Whether you have a sports injury, or any other type of sprain, strain or break, kinesiology can help your body to heal faster, so you can get back to ‘normal life’ and the activities you enjoy again. Kinesiology also works extremely well alongside other holistic modalities or conventional treatments in speedily healing injuries.
